SOMETHING MIGHT HAVE BROKEN INSIDE MICHAEL SAYLOR’S BITCOIN MACHINE. $STRC was designed to stay near $100 forever. Strategy launched it in July 2025, raised $2.5 BILLION from investors, and used that money to buy more Bitcoin. In return, investors got an 11.5% yearly yield

The image shows a stock chart with the price of Bitcoin displayed against time and days at different stages of the trading day. The chart appears to show a significant drop, which might have caused Michael to lose his Bitcoins from the machine. It was an attempt by Strategy Inc. to invest in Bitcoin by using its own Machine Learning model that made it buy Bitcoins when they were below $100 and sell them later on, thus making money for themselves while minimizing potential losses for investors.

If Strategy sells MSTR to pay the dividend, it's a ponzi. If Strategy sells Bitcoin to pay the dividend, it's a death spiral. If Strategy sells STRC to buy Bitcoin, the common stockholders are being "diluted". If Strategy uses the USD reserve to pay off the debt, it's a "fatal

Peter Schiff @PeterSchiff · 2026-06-03T19:25:28+00:00

$STRC is down to $94.85, putting the current yield at 12.12%. The lower the price falls, the higher $MSTR will have to increase the dividend to bring the share price back up to $100. That means MSTR will run out of cash much sooner, pulling forward Bitcoin sales to fund payments.

Peter Schiff @PeterSchiff · 2026-06-03T20:07:19+00:00

Most $STRC investors will lose most of their money, as the price of STRC eventually collapses when @Saylor is forced to terminate the dividend. Expect a flood of lawsuits to add to $MSTR 's problems, as investors burned by deceptive advertising seek to recover their losses.

Bit Paine @BitPaine · 2026-06-03T00:45:31+00:00

At current prices, if $MSTR decided to fund the entire $STRC dividend by selling $BTC , it would have to sell ~1500 bitcoin per month to do so. $MSTR acquired a net ~171,200 $BTC year-to-date (843,746 total) which is 10 years (43 years total) at the above

For @Strategy , it looks like the sky is falling. Maybe it is, but here's some math. It would cost Strategy ~1500 BTC per month to cover the full dividend. If they can continue to issue STRC at a rate of $200M per month, they buy twice as much BTC as they sell. Using BTC to

I am buying more $STRC today. At $95.30, the effective dividend yield is ~12.1%. I will then pocket the additional ~4.9% capital gain as it inevitably trades back up to par... which is what it's designed to do. Didn't think we'd get the chance to do this again but here we are.

The image shows a screen displaying information about Strategy Variable Rate options. The post suggests that a strategy variable rate could be beneficial for investors, as evidenced by the high yield currently available at $95.30 with an effective dividend yield of 12.1%. The post also states that if the option were held overnight and it eventually traded back up to par, investors would make a capital gain on their investment, ultimately gaining $4.9% in total return.

32 Bitcoins: Native caused a bloodbath. $STRC and $SATA—I still think they have a chance to get back to $100, but the risk and reward here are really not proportional at all.

Lots of people are exposing themselves today. They do not understand that Strategy has a balance sheet built for war. The previous times $STRC closed below $95: Aug 19, 2025 = $93.60 Nov 20, 2025 = $92.79 Feb 5, 2026 = $93.67 This is hardly anything new. Every single time it

STRC is falling to $95. Strategy has 32.5 years of dividend coverage in Bitcoin. Strategy has 6.3 months of dividend coverage in cash. On average, Strategy raises one month worth of dividend payments every trading day. The effective yield here is 12.09%. The dividend is

What is most likely going to happen with $STRC : - It's going to keep dumping with BTC until BTC finds a bottom, at which point it's going to bottom too. Maybe around $90, maybe here if BTC doesn't move further down (hmm) - Once BTC bounces again, STRC will bounce too as people

In the image, there's a chart with Bitcoin (BTC) prices displayed over time. A person has written that they believe Bitcoin will "keep dumping" until it finds a bottom at which point it's going to bottom too. This means that they predict Bitcoin's price will continue falling until it reaches a lower point, and then it will start rising again once it hits the lowest point. It is likely that Bitcoin will reach the lowest point around $90 in the image, after which it will bounce back up, potentially resulting in a "bottom" BTC price of around $80 or less. The reason for this forecast lies in the fact that Bitcoin's value has been fluctuating significantly over time and is expected to continue experiencing this pattern moving forward.

“The biggest argument I get about $STRC is it’s too good to be true.” Don’t miss my full show with Ben Hunnewell, who went from “hating” Bitcoin before 2020 to becoming a maxi. Streaming now wherever you get your podcasts. [Spoken audio]: How did you get into Bitcoin? Because you're one of the big reasons why this company put stretch on the balance sheet. Well, my story starts back in 2020, around the COVID time. And when I saw what was going to happen with the Fed about to issue that much money, we knew what was coming. So that's when I really started looking into Bitcoin a lot more serious. Up until that point, I think Michael's famous for saying everybody hates it until they love it. And I was one of those people. I used to make fun of the people that invested in Bitcoin. But the more I studied it, because lo and behold, when you shut down the planet, you have a lot of time. So that gave me a lot of time to actually dig into it. And once you understand that Bitcoin was a protocol and you understand that it's not something you can hack, that's like hacking the base 10 numbering system. It just doesn't happen. So as you start to get more involved that way, then I started to appreciate it more. It was somewhere around late 2020, maybe 2021, when I flipped to be more of a maxi and realized the difference between cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin. And from there, about that time is when micro strategy at the time decided to put some Bitcoin on the balance sheet. And I thought, okay, there's a company I'm interested in. So that was when I started dating, if you will, with MSTR. And I've been following them ever since and become more and more of a fan along the way, which led us down the path of, you know, when Stretch actually came out last year. I mean, the preferreds, the converts, and, you know, the common stock ATM, all that stuff was things that I was very interested. But when Stretch came out, that's when I realized this was a pivotal moment and recognizing an opportunity early is a key attribute for any successful businessman and I went to my partners and told them you know this is going to change the world it's going to change the financial world and once they realized that wasn't hyperbole they were on board pretty quick so small companies small management teams small section of a piece of voters so it was relatively quick and able to be nimble move into Well, a lot of people have now heard of companies holding Bitcoin on the balance sheet. But why specifically was stretch something that you wanted to embrace? Because people have never heard of these perpetual preferred instruments collateralized by Bitcoin paying upwards of 11 and a half. Some of them now 13%. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know, I've heard the keep Bitcoin on your balance sheet for a long time. You know, Michael's been preaching it for years now. And I was never really an advocate for that just because the primary purpose of a business is to generate product and generate cash flows and profit for its owners and shareholders. And Bitcoin's volatility means that particularly up until the FASB rules changed, they were very punitive to Bitcoin. So you can only mark it down, you could never mark it up. So when the FASB rule changed, that took a little bit away from that. But primarily, for most of us, we're in business to deliver battery systems. We're here to manage our projects and manage our cash flows. And something that has that kind of volatility that Bitcoin has was just not something that was feasible for the company. Now personally, I held plenty of Bitcoin. But for the company, I needed something that would hold its value steady. That's just not something that Bitcoin is known for yet. Well, something that companies have in common with Bitcoin is you have to reach consensus, right? So how did it go from an idea to hold stretch to actually executing on it? What did that take? Well, the people that work around me and have spent much time around me, they almost have the same sigh whenever a new person is in our presence and they ask me about Bitcoin or strategy because they go, oh, there goes the day. Because they know I'll just go on about that for long periods time. So the people that I work with, all of my partners, we've been working together for years. So they've watched my investments and they've heard me talk about strategy and they've heard me talk about Bitcoin for a long time. And so four of the five other partners that I have, they're all stretch holders before we even had this discussion. So personally, they were holding MSTR they were also holding STRC. So it wasn't that big of a jump to do it with our corporate money I mean our our treasury. We had one person who was a little reluctant but he's normally the cautious one of the group but it only took about one month when the dividend showed up and he's like you know I think I'm in. So for people who are watching and they're the skeptics and they say oh my gosh this thing's backed by Bitcoin we've never seen anything like this it's super risky what do you say to them? You know the biggest argument I get on STRC is it's too good to be true which I can understand that I mean in the equities world something like this always burns you. In fact if you're an equities investor and you see high dividend yields what's actually called a dividend trap because normally their earnings are in trouble and the company's in in trouble, and they haven't yet reduced the dividend payout. So we've kind of been hardwired over the last five, six decades that when you see a yield that high, it's associated with really high risk. And that's generally the consensus that you have to overcome in the investment world. I've found it's easier to explain stretch to someone who knows nothing about finance than it is with someone who does have a finance background, because it's so novel, it's so far removed from what normal people are used to seeing. But I gotta give credit to Jeff Walton when he sat down with Coffeezilla. You know, I'm not trying to plug coffee, but when he did his, I'll call it a hit piece on STRC, is he did that piece and I got inundated on X and through email from everyone about what did I think about his piece? And I said, actually, I don't think he said anything categorically incorrect. He just framed it up very pessimistically. And he made some comments that were kind of iffy. But I give him credit for bringing Jeff Walton on. But at the same time, I would not want to spar with Jeff Walton. That's one more brilliant people I know who specifically focuses on risk. And when he came out and he explained, when he had the discussion and he asked the question, is an insurance company a Ponzi? I was like, oh, that is the best way to explain it. That's the best way to explain it. So I think with time getting people to see that there are actually other structures like this, but an insurance company has a very similar structure where they raise capital through premiums and their dividend, if you will, would be claims. And what's underlying the entire balance sheet is stocks and bonds or investments. So our strategy does something very similar, just using your preferred equity with Bitcoin as the underlying investment.

Saturn is aware of the de-pegging of other STRC-backed stablecoins and protocols, but Saturn remains unaffected. Saturn designed USDat and sUSDat to segregate the risk. Reach out to the team directly with any questions.

Alex Krüger @krugermacro · 2026-06-03T21:53:44+00:00

The problem with STRC is not STRC itself, but rather overdoing it, as Saylor did. Can also argue ETH has a higher capacity to generate yield, onchain, to pay for the dividends, making it more sustainable than STRC.

This year’s worth of $STRC dividends is gone… for 32 Bitcoin. I think this is one of the worst moves in Bitcoin history.

honkballs @reddit · 2026-06-03T20:15:13.504000+00:00

STRC is now below $95, if it stays below $95, MicroStrategy will increase the interest by 0.5% on ALL outstanding shares, increasing it's annual dividend cost by ~$53m And Saylor will continue raising the interest rate every month until the price is above $99. It also means he can't really issue more STRC (as who would buy it at $100 when they can buy it for less on the open market). Which was his main way of funding new bitcoin purchases now, as issuing new common stock would start ruining his "bitcoin yield" metric. The cracks are starting to show.

Zynx @ZynxBTC · 2026-06-03T21:30:53+00:00

The reasons why $STRC is trading below $95 currently: 1) The product was already struggling because the yield was too low. There has been too much compression between its current yield and the risk-free rate with USTs rising since March. I have spoken about this all month. 2)

The $STRC price is collapsing It is back to its lowest level since February, and crucially, a long way from the $100 golden level

In the image, there's a candle chart showing the closing prices of a stock over a period of several months with each candle representing a single trading day. The price has been consistently falling since February, reaching its lowest level this year. It is now back to its lowest point since February, indicating that the stock may be experiencing a significant decline in value. This fall sharply could be due to several factors like market conditions or economic indicators affecting the industry where the company operates.

We just have to accept no matter what MSTR does people will be upset. No matter what. First it was they will buy too much bitcoin. Now they are in a death spiral from selling a fraction of their reserve. Then it was they have too much debt. Now STRC is broke because they

$STRC is down to $94.85, putting the current yield at 12.12%. The lower the price falls, the higher $MSTR will have to increase the dividend to bring the share price back up to $100. That means MSTR will run out of cash much sooner, pulling forward Bitcoin sales to make payments.

If you put $1,000,000 into $STRC right now here's some fun math You'd have $52,632 in gains if it goes back to $100 You'd make $121,053 passively per year at the current 11.5% dividend rate You would be paid out $10,088 per month
