Long story short, I made some poor decisions while working in a couple of professional jobs and I was fired from 1 and needed to resign from the other. My undergraduate is in Psychology (2016) and my graduate is in Public Health (2019). Immediately after undergraduate I worked in an eating disorder treatment facility for 3-4 years. Then after I graduated with my MPH, I got a job as a case manager in immigration, basically working as a social worker and helping with healthcare and with assisting lawyers for legal cases. This was my dream job. I had extensive CPS calls to make and difficult asylum cases to work with and, while I did my best, the social workers often seemed unhappy with me for not filling out incident report firms that I didn't know existed and I communicated with the wrong people in immigration at times, which almost led a client to not having a lawyer at his hearing. Everything worked out and no client was harmed, but the fear of deeply negatively affecting a client's life because of a mistake I made was enough for me to take classes to move into nonprofit/healthcare finance and bookkeeping.
